For this Privateer 37, a 35 kW Green Marine electric motor was chosen, developed for powerful and efficient propulsion in heavier displacement vessels. The motor delivers instant torque from standstill, so the ship accelerates smoothly and in a controlled way, without lag or gear changes.

The drivetrain is coupled to a 48V lithium battery pack and supported by a 5 kVA generator as a range extender. This combination provides a reliable hybrid solution in which electric boating is central, with extra range available whenever it is needed.

Thanks to the direct transmission to the propeller shaft, power is converted into propulsion efficiently, with minimal energy losses. The result is low energy consumption at cruising speed and predictable handling, a major advantage on longer trips.

The electric motor runs completely vibration-free and virtually silent. That not only improves comfort on board, it also means less wear on components and a longer system life. On top of that, the installation requires considerably less maintenance than a traditional combustion engine.

The motor and control unit are cooled through keel cooling, ensuring a stable temperature and optimal performance in all conditions. Combined with the modern electrical system on board and the advanced controls, the result is a drivetrain that is a clear step forward, both technically and in daily use.
