Van Baerdt Electric Tenders
At Van Baerdt Jachtbouw, sustainability is a core value. Our first step towards a circular future is to eliminate fossil fuels. The choice for an aluminium hull, instead of polyester, emphasises our commitment to robustness and recyclability. Our E800 tender is designed with fully electric sailing as a starting point, with exclusivity and a large sailing range as key features.
We strive to maximise reuse and recycling. With the continuous advancement in battery recycling technology, there are now companies that can guarantee up to 95% reuse. This enables us to strive for almost completely circular products. Together we are building a greener, cleaner future on the water.

Maurice Agricola, 27, from Lemmer, has redefined his boating experience with the Van Baerdt E800—a fully electric tender designed for elegance, performance, and sustainability. Measuring 8 meters in length and weighing 2,700 kg, the E800 is crafted from 6–8 mm aluminum, offering both durability and a sleek aesthetic.
Powered by a 10 kW Green Marine electric motor and a 28.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the E800 delivers a cruising speed of 7 km/h and a top speed of 15 km/h, with a maximum range of up to 18 hours.
Maurice's primary motivation for transitioning to electric propulsion was the tranquility and low-maintenance nature of the system, saving both time and money. He notes, "The saying 'buy a boat, work yourself to death' no longer applies." The absence of engine noise and exhaust fumes has transformed his boating into a more peaceful and enjoyable experience.
The installation process was seamless—"plug and play," as Maurice describes it. He highly recommends electric boating to others, emphasizing the elimination of many fixed costs associated with traditional boats.
The Van Baerdt E800 is not only about performance but also about luxury and thoughtful design. Features include a spacious sunbed with adjustable backrest, a high-performance Silverguard cushion set, integrated LED lighting, a built-in refrigerator, and an electric toilet. The use of synthetic teak decking and metallic paint enhances both aesthetics and durability.
Maurice's story exemplifies the future of boating—quiet, sustainable, and effortlessly enjoyable.
